just. write. something.

i have no idea why all of a sudden i'm on a writing strike.  do i have writers block?  am i just too busy?  am i prioritizing it out of my life?  I don't know.  For now...here are some pics to keep you entertained. :)

You were so tiny!

One of my very best friends asked me to guest post on her blog.  I couldn't, in good conscience, post on her blog when I've not posted on mine in over a month.  We'll see if this starts me going again :)

mother quotes :)

" Motherhood is more than bearing children, though it is certainly that. It is the essence of who we are as women." Sheri Dew

If you have a mom, there is nowhere you are likely to go where a prayer has not already been.  ~Robert Brault

A suburban mother's role is to deliver children obstetrically once, and by car forever after. ~Peter De Vries

Sweater, n.: garment worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly. ~Ambrose Bierce

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. ~Honoré de Balzac

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. ~Sophia Loren, Women and Beauty

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.

The mother loves her child most divinely, not when she surrounds him with comfort and anticipates his wants, but when she resolutely holds him to the highest standards and is content with nothing less than his best.

A mother's arms are more comforting than anyone else's." -- Diana, Princess of Wales

If you've never been hated by your child, you've never been a parent." -- Bette Davis

Mothers reflect God's loving presence on earth. --William R. Webb

10 Day Challenge - Day 3

1. Bourne Series

2. Mr. & Mrs. Smith
3. Away We Go

31 weeks and I'm...

...just starting to firm up (my belly that is).
...just starting to feel back pain and hip pain, and I do NOT like them.
...in awe of what God can create.  I have a whole person inside of me!!
...just starting to feel the nesting instinct.  I cleaned the kitchen and bedroom, organized baby items, and dusted all in one evening.
...marveling at the wonder that is inside of me.
...just starting to feel full way sooner than I would like.  I enjoy eating way too much!!
...just starting to have a TON of energy.  I have to force myself to bed at a descent hour.
...getting anxious for the big day.
...just starting to say "Is it my turn yet?"  I can't wait for Sweet Pea to arrive!
...just starting to think "Are we seriously doing this?" ;)
...just starting to wonder what it will be like to say "This is my son."
...just beginning to think I might not be able to handle loving this little one so much.
...wondering if the name we picked out is really the name, or if should be something different. (names are so hard to figure out!)
...just now wondering what it's actually going to be like to be a mom.
...wondering what breast feeding is going to feel like.
...just now starting to think about the actual work that goes into labor.  It doesn't scare me one bit, so I haven't thought about it much.
...SO EXCITED!!!!

Pregnancy Survey - Week 28

How far along are you? 28 weeks today.  84 days left! :)

How big is Baby? 2 1/4 pounds and about 15 inches long.

Weight Gain? At my last doctor appointment I had lost two pounds, but she didn't seem worried.  It's not like I'm starving myself...that's for sure.

Gender? Boy

Maternity Clothes?  I don't know what I'd do without comfy maternity clothes.  It's been such a blessing to have a friend of mine let me borrow so many wonderful clothes!

Stretch Marks? Not any new ones!  I was blessed with stretch marks before I was 14. :(

Sleep? I sleep fairly well.  I'm not big enough to be SUPER uncomfortable.  I do notice I wake up more often to readjust, but then I go right back to sleep.

Symptoms? Last week I went on a hike and I noticed the shortness of breath.  And I'm not even that big yet.  Also, my back feels sore much faster than normal.  Not much bending over for me anymore.

Movement? I'm lucky to have quite the mover on me!  I absolutely adore feeling him move around inside of me.  I'm excited to experience him rolling and tumbling.

Food Cravings? nothing except for I love my foods even spicier than normal.

Labor Signs? I've had a few moments where I could tell I was having Braxton Hicks contractions just because my belly felt tight for a couple of seconds.  But they don't hurt, just feel weird, nothing to worry about yet.

Belly Button in or out? 100% innie!  It hasn't changed even a little bit.

What I miss? I miss being able to sleep on my stomach.  Couple nights ago, I slept in Child's Pose for about 10 minutes.  It was glorious!!

What I am looking forward to? Carting my son around and showing him off to the world!!! :)

Best moment of the week? Going to a consignment sale with friends and getting some really awesome clothes for super cheap! :)

10 Day Challenge - Day 8

1. I won't ever be in a place where I can say I have a great relationship with my Savior.

2. Somebody I meet won't like me or get along with me.

3. Anything adventurous.  You laugh, but seriously, I've realized I'm scared of adventure.  I once stood on a cliff for at least an hour and couldn't talk myself into jumping off like all my other friends.  That goes for high dive as well. White water rafting...HA!  Caves, super scary.  Skiing, slow death by rolling head over heals down a steep mountain.  Not joking...this is how I think.

4. I won't be able to lose my pregnancy weight.

5. I'll never be involved in singing or music ever again.

6. I won't be a good mother, one of those "naturals" that just knows what to do.

7. My child will be just like me :)

8. My husband and I won't ever be able to get out of debt.

10 Day Challenge - Day 9

1. I absolutely adore feeling my son kick inside of me.  Seriously can't get enough of that!!

2. I love when I get home and my husband is in the kitchen.  He already has the dishwasher loaded, the trash/recycling taken out and dinner is ready to be served!  He's the best husband EVER!

3. I love listening to the rain falling outside when I can just grab a book and lazily read the morning away.

4. I love receiving a random email or post that puts a smile on my face and warms my heart.

5. I love that my sister and I have play dates and random encounters!  For that matter, I love that my sister is within a 30 minute drive of me! :)

6. I love the fact that I live is 2 hours from the ocean, 1 hour from a huge mountain (not mentioning that it's a volcano), 1 hour from waterfalls, and 2 hours from the high desert land. Can't beat it!

7. I love that my family loves me so unconditionally!

8. I love Birch Community Services, our gleaning community.  Rolando and I would have starved to death (ok, slight exaggeration) without it.

9. I love the feeling I have AFTER a good work out.  I don't necessarily love the work out, though.

10 Day Challenge - Day 10

I found this little gem of inspiration over at Here Comes the Sun.  Beautiful new family, many challenges, you should stop by and read their story!

I've been having trouble figuring out what to write about so I've decided to take this challenge.

Ten Secrets:
1. I'm OCD...I know that's not a secret, but the one 'mess' I can't keep up with is the pile of clean clothes after doing laundry.  I HATE putting clothes away!
2. I am jealous of mommies who get to stay at home.  I don't think I would be a good SAHM but I would like the chance to try it out.
3. I love being lazy and would love nothing more than to spend every Saturday lying on the couch watching movies or TV shows
4. I could very easily eat a whole pint of ben & jerry's half baked ice cream...no joke!  I am not one of those who finds certain foods 'rich'...I don't even know what that means.
5. I would rather listen to a musical than any other genre of music.
6. I shower every other day (unless I work out at the gym, then it's necessary!!)
7. I beat myself up for not keeping in better contact with my friends.
8. I've lived in five different states, attended 7 different schools k-12, went to 3 colleges and am a better person for it.  I know how to make friends, I'm not afraid of new situations, and I'm not deterred by a room full of strangers.
9. My weight and food are always on my mind...not always in a positive manner.
10. I want to move to Italy someday.
